This polygon dataset contains metrics used to estimate the Potential and Degradation of coastal inlet sites. Sites are mapped at the extent of the nearshore zone. An Inlet Process Unit (IPU) was defined where Drainage Units (DUs) categorized as No Appreciable Drift (NAD) contain a contiguous Open Coastal Inlet (OCI) landform or where DUs contain a contiguous Drowned Channel landform. Potential and Degradation metrics are agglomerated in two different ways: 1) through the development of rank-sum indices that reduce all metrics to a single unitless score, and 2) through multivariate cluster analysis which groups sites with similar metric values. |
